Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their strong commitment to agriculture for over 100 years.
The California Restaurant Association, Fresno chapter, awarded owner John Harris at the 2015 Best of the Valley Restaurant Awards on Monday at the Double Tree by Hilton in Fresno. More than 660 guests were in attendance and enjoyed Harris Ranch Restaurant’s signature prime rib.
“It’s an honor and very humbling to be recognized by Best of the Valley and the CRA Fresno chapter for our work in the Fresno region,” Harris said in a previous statement. “Our reputation and contribution to Fresno and the industry remains our passion and our privilege.”
乐动体育Harris said he was excited and pleased to personally receive the award but stressed that the success of the inn and restaurant is truly a team effort. He said he is proud of maintaining and growing the overall Harris Ranch business to one of the largest agribusinesses in the nation.
Harris Ranch produces more than 33 crops annually, including tomatoes, garlic, lettuce, onions, melons, oranges, lemons, almonds, pistachios, walnuts and wine grapes. Originally Harris Ranch produced only cotton and grain.

We look forward to another 80 years of product excellence.”
乐动体育Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant was established in 1977 and serves more than 2,000 people each day. It is located on Interstate 5 in Coalinga, midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco which features a variety of venues and attracts people from all over the world.

Originally the Harris family came to California in 1916 to start one of California’s first cotton gins and cotton seed oil mills. They later moved to the San Joaquin Valley.
John and Carole, his wife, oversee five independent operating divisions including Harris Ranch Inc., Harris Ranch Beef Company, Harris Feeding Company, Harris Hospitality Division and the Thoroughbred Horse Division.
乐动体育Harris Farms thoroughbreds are raised on their farm and trained to compete internationally. They raised California Chrome, the winner of the 2014 Kentucky Derby, Preakness and many other races.
乐动体育Harris Ranch is also the largest cattle raising operation in California, producing and marketing a premium line of packaged and fully-cooked beef products, including Harris Ranch Restaurant Reserve beef, all of which are sold at Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant.
乐动体育Haley Wagner, who is the California Restaurant Association Fresno chapter president, said the event on Monday was completely packed.
乐动体育“It really was a fabulous event,” Wagner said. “The food was fantastic. The fact that they can hold it to that standard with a large group is really impressive.”
