Locals land on All-WYL girls, boys soccer teams

Hanford lemoore soccer Girls Senior Night

乐动体育Lemoore High’s Cassandra Sandoval, right, and Hanford High’s Sydney Schroder were both first team selections on the All-West Yosemite League girls soccer team.

乐动体育The Lemoore girls soccer team had three players pick up first team honors, leading the way for teams from Kings County on the All-West Yosemite League team.

乐动体育Hanford had two first team selections while Hanford West had one.

For the Tigers, Cassandra Sandoval, Aileen Loera and Michaela Ramirez were all first team selections. For Hanford, seniors Sydney Schroder and Julia Barrera were first team selections.

Hanford West sophomore Isabelle Hopkins was also a first team All-WYL pick.

乐动体育Picking up second team All-WYL selections were Lemoore’s Chloe Chedester, Samantha Chedester; Hanford’s Hanna Murrieta, Brianna Langley plus Hanford West’s Sabrina Amaro and Abigail Puga.

乐动体育Honorable mentions included Lemoore’s Kaitlynn Sweet, Deziree Jimmeye, Jazmin Padilla; Hanford’s Skyler Martinez, Madison Stewart and Danae Hill as well as Hanford West’s Morgan Herron, Kassandra Ybarra and Kayce Phillips.

乐动体育Redwood’s Brooke Crisp was named the WYL’s Most Valuable Player while teammate Alyssa Castillo was named the WYL’s Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Rangers to the WYL title.

乐动体育Other first team All-WYL selections: Redwood — Crisp, Castillo, Abby Frolli, Brooklyn Morris; Golden West — Kylie Cowell, Jessica Glick; Mt. Whitney — Tatum Perez, Jenna Shelton; and El Diamante — Mia Fulleylove, Idania Macias.

Hanford’s Pena leads locals on All-WYL boys team

乐动体育Hanford senior Javier Pena was named the West Yosemite League’s Defensive Player of the Year, leading Kings County athletes on the All-WYL boys soccer team.

Hanford, Hanford West and Lemoore each had one player earn first team honors.

Hanford West’s Christian Dutra was a first team All-WYL selection as well as Lemoore’s Mario Lanuza and Hanford’s Joey Cardenas.

Earning second team honors were Hanford’s Jose Chavez and Javier Cervantes; Lemoore’s Jesus Zavala and Oscar Berriga as well as Hanford West’s Jacob Patton and Max Coyt.

Mt. Whitney’s Jaime Trujillo was named the WYL’s Player of the Year while Golden West’s Jack Felsted was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year.

Other first team All-WYL selections: Golden West — Ramon Zarco, Angel Legaspi, Alexis Bustos; Redwood — Cooper Allen, Morgan Helin, Jose Vides; Mt. Whitney — Fabian Castillo, Steven Salmeron, Jessie Castillo; and El Diamante — Francisco Medina.
